Just read an article called "reasons to get a tattoo" and it listed memories, tributes, and passions.  Check, check, and check.

Welp, that's it.  Unless I get sick of looking at the words written on my foot during the upcoming week, it's gonna get permanent.  As Yvonne pointed out on my last entry, this is what "vivre à en crever" is all about.  It's better to regret something you did do than wonder about something you didn't.  The bad news is I won't be good to go swimming for basically the rest of my time in the US.  The good news is Kelley is stoked about this idea and really ready to drive me to the place.  I googled a bit and kept coming up with the name of a place in Raleigh, and when I asked a friend who grew up here where she wants to get her tattoo done she named the same place.  Apparently it has an amazing reputation.

In France news, I CANNOT GET THE ATLANTA CONSULATE WEBSITE TO WORK to schedule my appointment.  That's basically the only step I have left besides a followup at the doctor on Saturday for my medical form.  I'm SO. CLOSE.  I called them and the phone said to email them so I did that earlier today and now I'm waiting.  I check the site every once in a while, but it WILL NOT WORK.  I hope this is a site malfunction and not a sign that all the appointments are booked for the rest of the summer somehow.  I guess there's no way I can go to a different consulate?  Or make them HURRY UP the visa process?  Ffffff.

Is the DC as close as Atlanta, or even potentially marginally more convenient? I'd be glad to put you up for a night or two if you don't mind an air mattress in the living room.

If it helps at all. (I know, you'd still need to get either place, but I thought I'd offer.)

I don't know if I'm allowed to go to any other consulate... the FAQ on the Atlanta site indicates that if you're from North Carolina you MUST go to the Atlanta consulate... idk, but I'm SO bummed out by this.

I was going to post on your previous entry what some people had said about their tattoos to Terrence Zdunich (who surprisingly is tattooless) when he asked them why they would immortalize Repo! on their skin and never got around to it so you get this info now. A lot of them said that they treated their tattoos as sort of a scrap book they carried around with them all the time and that even when they're old and there's no more Repo! fandom or their love for the movie dwindles, there was always this moment when Repo! was important to them and so it marks the memory. I'm sure that's along the lines of what that article says.

But yeah, go for it! I've been contemplating getting a Nightwish related tattoo for ages on my back but I'm like the most indecisive person ever. Too many lyrics and songs from them that I love and I only really have money for one and I want to choose the "right" one and they have a new album coming out and what if I like that more than the others, etc etc.

I saw an old lady, perhaps sixty years old, today. She had a tattoo on her foot (a little flower), and boy, was she flaunting it. She wore flip flops (sometimes, I feel like I live in Florida rather than in Georgia...). It was obvious she had gotten it when she was younger, because it had kind of faded and all. But it just goes to show that tattoos are timeless, if you get the right kind. Getting "vivre a en crever" would be awesomely amazing. :)

I'm actually somewhat near to the Atlanta Consulate. It's a pretty place, a really big glass building near a really ritzy mall. Just saying since you mentioned it. :) I was able to get on the website today but I'm not sure which part of the website you're trying to get to so I can't say if it's working for me or not. Have you tried looking on the Atlanta Alliance Francaise page yet? http://www.afatl.com/default.htm If you're still having trouble, you might be able to contact them. They're always really helpful with French-related things, so maybe they could give you a hand if you still need help?
