According to the support ticket in the ITS system you gave them explicit permission to reimage your HD if needed and they think you took all your files off. If that's not actually true, you could probably contact them and try to get it back and get your files back off or even just ask them to contact you before reimaging the machine? It doesn't look like they've reimaged yet.
As a member of ResNET, I'd also like to point out that you have an RCC in your dorm (Amanda Loy in 212) in your dorm, and there are quite a few of us around. Next time you can have one of us come in and look at your machine before you give it off to the ITRC (although if you wanted the loaner immediately that was probably the best option).

[am I sounding pompous or 'it's all your fault' sort of thing? not meaning to. just trying to give you all the computer options 'cause that's my job and losing data is never fun. that happened to me last year.]
