Okay, update

So, about a month ago I went to Lille to stalk down the MOR Troupette for their teeny reunion.

We spent the morning going between the two Lille train stations (which are, weirdly, next door to each other) and finally spotted the Troupette (minus Flo!) getting off a train. They were rushed, but I got a bisou from Mikele.

We then spent most of the day hanging out in front of the hotel. We chatted with Ycare but I totally ignored the opportunity to take a photo with him because he's a homewrecker. Rumor was that Flo had arrived magically somehow, potentially in a car, and he and the MOR gang were already rehearsing at the Zénith.

Luck was with me though, as usual, for suddenly one of my friends came running up and grabbed me saying "Y'a Flo!" We ran past the crowd of oblivious fans and threw ourselves into Sweet French Jesus's path. He said to me "Attends Ehreen, je reviens!" which means Wait Erin, I'll come back, and he scurried into the hotel. Of course, I was flipping shit that he'd used my name again, even though he did inexplicably pronounce it the French way.

Meanwhile, Mikele was allowing himself to be swallowed by a crowd of fans. I went ahead and worked my way in, getting another bisou and ciao for my efforts.

Then I went back and stood eagerly by the door, because you see Floflo had made a date with me. Haha.

He finally did come back out, and when I wormed my way up to him he asked who was taking the picture and I said MOI!

You'd think by now he'd be at a point in his life where cameras don't confuse him.

Ycare emerged from the hotel at the same time, but he only spent a few minutes with the fans before he squirmed out of the crowd and hurried off saying "L'échappé, l'échappé!" which means "escapee, escapee!" Flo stayed for a long time because he's lovely. He finally left to go rehearse his duet with Ycare. Homewrecker.

After a while I saw Maeva, Merwan, and Diane come by. I watched them for a long time but finally was like "what the hell" and got a picture with Maeva.

Flo came back later, stopping again to do photos. I was leaning against the wall right near the door, and when he passed me he just smiled hugely, hesitating for a second as though he expected me to say something to him, but when he saw I was going to let him pass his smile got even bigger and he waggled his eyebrows as he went in.

The other girls were like OOH LÀ LÀ THE WAY HE SMIIIIILED AT YOUUUUU and I was like yeah now he just needs to learn to do that in our Flotos.

We hung out some more. By the time Flo came back through I was leaning against a street sign near the road. I watched him take pictures with everyone, platonically adoring him from afar, not really intending to say anything else. The crowd swept him closer and closer to me, and suddenly he was trampling me. He had a bookbag on and as he turned to face someone it literally knocked into me, forcing me away from my pole. A moment later he turned to smile at me and I said "Tu m'écraises là!" which means you're running over/crushing me. He went "Sorry?" so I said it again, and he went "Oh! I'm sorry!" but then he got this little sassy face on, like he suddenly remembered that I'm the one who likes to tease him, and he stammered "It's- it's YOUR fault!" with his little cheeky grin. I shook my head and said, "Who do you think you are?" Flo laughed and went on his way to the concert.

The girls came running over saying they'd heard him say "it's your fault" and wanting to know the rest of the conversation. They were mildly impressed it. I was INCREDIBLY impressed by it. Me and Florent Mothe are bros.

As the crowd cleared away (throughout this entire span of time, Mikele had remained in the same crowd of girls, signing everything and taking every photo) one of the girls who was staying in the hotel invited us to go inside and grab something to drink. We all got sodas and juices and stuff when suddenly I saw Mikele enter the hotel lobby. He spotted us immediately and came over, loudly singing Merwan's latest song (DIS-moi encoore que tu m'aiiimes!).

He bisou'd everyone at the table and then just stood there for a while. The other girls were all pretending to be too cool for him--seriously, they'd spent most of the day insulting him, which always made me go "Ohhhhh, mais non!"--so I was the first one to speak. I said "You spent a lot of time out there with the fans, it was really nice." and Mikele was like Of course, I haven't seen them in such a long time, blah blah crazy Italian accent. I love him. He started talking about Korean MOR (MORK, as we call it) and he was saying how much he loved the guy playing him (lol he meant Red Pants Guy, or Kim Ho Young I think) and then he started telling stories about how funny it is to see them taking things as fact that the original Troupe just did for the lulz. Then he started talking about "des limites? poof! j'ai mieux!" and he said one day he was asking Maktav--at this point, I exchanged an eyeroll with my friends, which made Mikele stop and say "What? Are you in love with Maktav?" to which I said "NO!" and he looked thoughtful before continuing his story--one time he asked Maktav why he says POOF before he says j'ai mieux. He said they both shrugged, but then suddenly Maktav said "Wait, I do know why you do it. But I'm not going to tell you." Haha omg how funny that's really clever looool. Okay sorry I'm done.

Then Mikele said the MOR has been sold to the US. He started talking about how he wants to go to try to get in free on Broadway. He said he'll tell them that he's Mozart, and they'll say No you aren't, and he'll say Yes I am, look at this photo! and they'll say, So what, you made a costume, that doesn't mean you're Mozart it just means you're a fan. The whole time he was telling this story he was doing his little I'm-so-proud-of-my-hilariousness face, and I was gazing at him like OMG YOURE FUNNY ILU and the other girls were doing forced smiles. Finally one of the girls passed him her phone and he talked to her little sister for a second, obviously giving the girl a mild heart attack, and then he started to go up to his room but he paused to loudly say "What was my room number again? Oh yes!" and then read it out loudly. As he got into the elevator he sang "DIIIIS-moi encooore que tu m'aaiiimes!" again, and we continued to hear his voice get quieter as the elevator went away. Delightful.

At the concert, the Troupe only sang C'est bientôt la fin and a tiny bit of L'Assasymphonie, but more importantly, Mikele came out with another singer and performed Le Logomitombo, which is kind of the French equivalent of The Cha Cha Slide but sillier. It was gorgeous.

That evening we only hung out at the hotel long enough to see Christophe Maé (and his broken arm) refuse to stop for photos. So that was the end of that Lille adventure.

Okay, I have to deal with my job for a bit, so I'll tell my second and slightly less-interesting Lille story later.

:D
