French people keep asking me how I know about Mozart l'Opéra Rock, and I keep mumbling something about Vivre à en crever and youtube.
Well, now that I've finished my exams (!) which were actually pretty easy (!!) even though I've barely done any work all semester (!!!) and I definitely elected to blog about MOR and dance around my room rather than study (!!!!) I have very little to do with myself. Not that I do much with myself anyway. So I was going through my old livejournal entries to see if I could track down the day this all began.
I want to show that beautiflo picture from Tuesday to my past self, huddled alone in a college dorm room eating Easy Mac and crying over mean hallmates, and be like "DON'T GIVE UP, KID. THIS IS YOUR FUTURE." Seriously, one year ago I was in the worst part of my life, and now I'm in the best. I don't know if that qualifies as karma, but I'll take it!
Anyway, just out of interest, I made a little timeline of my obsession. I'm proud to have learned that my love of Nuno is over a year old! And I figured I'd go ahead and link you guys to some of the less embarrassing (that's questionable) older entries for the lulz.

I have an entry that mentions seeing the posters in Paris for the show for the first time after I moved here (apparently my reaction was to stand in the middle of a crosswalk and cry out in love) and, though I don't think I ever mentioned it on livejournal, I distinctly remember harassing the other girls who came to Barricade Day in June with my annoying habit of screaming every time I saw one of the posters on the streets. It was the first time I'd ever seen real life proof of the show's existence! You know! Outside of my computer screen!

7 February 2010 - Made Mikele and Flo on the Sims 2 with Katherine's help
17 January 2010 - Found out MOR was coming back to Paris ("I made breathless fangirly plans to see the show at least once but hang out at the stage door of the Palais des Sports at least once a week until Mikelangelo and Florent assume that I've seen the show millions of times and become my best friends")
14 December 2009 - a screencap of Katherine's and my Petville pets, "Mikele" and "P'tit Flo"
12 November 2009 - The discovery of "YEEEOOOOWWwwwWWWww" and the night Katherine and I designed the ideal spoon train with Mikele and Flo
9 November 2009 - The first time I saw clips of the actual show on youtube
7 November 2009 - The day a video of an acoustic L'Assasymphonie kept me out of the clutches of depression and I decided Mikele would be my favourite
6 November 2009 - The day I discovered Nuno and that Flo can play guitar
2 November 2009 - "Reason #9234901 why Mozart l'Opéra Rock is wonderful." The first time I realised Flo and Mikele were magic.
9 October 2009 - As an irritable 18th century costuming fan, I decided that the costumes were annoying
23 September 2009 - First hint that I might go to Paris. I was confused and overwhelmed but knew MOR was a priority.
*31 August 2009 - I think of this as a turning point. This was when I first noticed that MOR was becoming a big part of my life and that everyone on livejournal was going to be hearing me go on about it soon, so I just made an entire post that attempted to introduce everyone to it.
15 August, 14 July, 10 June, 2 June - No actual mention of the show, but these are all the days I finished parts of my 18th century ballgown project, and while I was sewing I listened to nothing but MOR over and over. I distinctly remember hemming up my stays and trying to sing along with Victime de ma victoire but having no inkling of context or lyrics. I just like the Zauberflöte part.
30 June 2009 - First attempt to be an ambassador for American fans and translate the songs into English. (The website is gone because the forum threatened to sue me.)
19 June 2009 - The first time I knew this was going to be a good thing. ("A part of me wants to whiiiine that they're set in the 18th century and not taking advantage of it, but the rest of me is just staring with my mouth open at the pure awesomeness of this collision of goth, emo, and mozart. It's just so... freaking awesome, really.")
3 June 2009 - First mention of Mozart l'Opéra Rock on my livejournal! I did a music meme and MOR showed up, but I wasn't sure about the lyrics and nobody was able to guess it. I imagine things would be very different if I did that meme right now.
