I'm going to attempt not to be too terribly creepy in this comment, considering I don't know you all that well and I like to reserve the extra creepiness for my friends. Who, y'know, are about 10x less likely to get weirded out by it. I'll start by saying that I'm not really commenting on this entry for any relevant reason other than...well, it's the latest one that you've posted.
So, livejournal just went down for about an hour when I clicked the link to comment on your journal after reading a few of your entries concerning Mozart, l'Opéra Rock. You'd think this would give me time to think about what I wanted to say but it didn't really. I've never been very good at using my time wisely.
I think I'm mostly commenting just to say that I'm incredibly jealous of you. Also, please forgive my brazen abuse of adverbs. >>
I've only recently got into the show but I'm become obsessed with it. So reading your blogs is a source of much amusement and much envy for me. I think originally I was going to type this comment and be totally creepy by popping up out of the woodwork (or whatever the Internet is made of) and beg you to get me autographs. I'm a poor college student, see, and my chances of getting to France are incredibly small. But that doesn't change my ridiculous fan-status at all. Which I think you might understand. But then I decided that would be really rude of me to do, so I'd leave an awkward comment instead and try to get to know you a little more before I start begging like some random stranger!creeper.
Which I'm sure I'm already doing right now because, well, I guess being creepy is easier on the Internet than anywhere else. So easy that it's completely unintentional. >>
I think I'd also just be cool to have more friends who are interested in Mozart, l'Opéra Rock too. Plus your journal entries are just fun to read so even if we never get to the point where I'm comfortable with begging you to swing autographs for me, at least I've hopefully made a new friend.
Anybody with an icon that beautiful is allowed to creep on my journal and friend me all day long! Clutching!!!
My initial reaction for a request for autographs was "Sure!!" BUT then I got a little worried that if I got one internet person autographs everybody else would want some too...? I have a minimum of four friends back home who would be really annoyed that I didn't get them autographs first (the one note wonderful Flo wrote for my friend Katherine was a special situation, as she has been completely infatuated with him to a degree that makes my recent lj entries look like "casual interest" for a little over a year now AND it's common knowledge that she and I are slightly in love) not to mention the other livejournal-based MOR -fan friends I've picked up along the way.
I imagine it's the same reason Flo doesn't follow Mikele's adorable example and hug and kiss fans at the stage door: when one fan gets a cheek kiss, the next fan wants one too. And then the next fan. And then the ones he's already talked to start going "Hey, where's MY cheek kiss??" and then he ends up standing out in the cold for twice as long as he needed to.
MORE IMPORTANTLY, though, you shouldn't feel awkward at all in leaving this comment! You're perhaps the third or fourth person to start following my journal since these MOR adventures began, so there's nothing creepy about it! Obviously the journal isn't that hard to find... *twitch*... so welcome! I'm always glad for some more attention.
I do wish I could be more accommodating when it comes to the autographs. I know exactly how you feel, dude--I was there one year ago when the show opened the first time and I was just sitting on my futon in North Carolina, hopelessly stalking it on youtube and wishing someone would film it in its entirety or accidentally drop a plane ticket to Paris in my lap. Maybe I can make up for it somehow?? I could tell Flo to stalk *your* lj if you want. :)
Haha, thank you! My friend Farferello got me into MOR and she's actually the one who's made a good chunk of my icons, including that one. Originally she had one of a scene from Vivre a en crever and I was like, "Who are these pretty people? owo" And so it began...
Aw, that's adorable though! That you did that for her. I was actually very panicky that you would think I was a total weirdo for popping out of the woodwork requesting autographs, and freaking out to my friend on Facebook that I had just completely blown it. Aha. I was like, "Oh my god, she'll think I'm a total spaz."
But then I supposed that I hoped I would make such a dorkish impression on you by IMMEDIATELY doing that, then you might be swayed by my lack of social-etiquette and would go for it anyway. You know, how someone just kind of pops up doing something that someone normally wouldn't expect without any precursor to it so there's something so compelling about it that you have to go for it? Kind of like that whole watching a train wreck and being unable to look away thing. Or a cheesy romance novel.
I just read your entry about the rude fans, by the way, when he was trying to talk to the little girls? How can people BE so mean? I'm glad he told them off. I cheered a little for him in my head (It's about midnight-thirty where I am right now and therefore cheering out loud would be a bad plan). So I can understand the dangers of being so polite. >>
Haha, great, I'm glad. I look forward to seeing more updates! I've only watched the show on DVD though, and I don't understand French (but I'm slowly learning). Hopefully if you happen to catch Far and I RPing Mozart/Salieri on my journal you won't be too horrified by their potential OOCness. >> Neither of us speaks French so we're going off of personality interpretations and a biased/morphed history.
Oh god. << Please don't direct him to my LJ. Unlike you, I would die. XD
I had made-up notions about Mikelangeflo's personalities when all this was beginning just based on the music videos and such, and I am *delighted* to report that I was one hundred percent correct. They are exactly who you think they are. Flo is quiet and sweet and patient and generous (and he is all of those things to an aching degree) and Mikele is glittery and fabulous and a little bit handsy.
It won't be long until I'm able to put out my English subtitles for the DVD! I mean, they won't work with the actual DVD, obviously, but if you have the .avi of it on your hard drive they'll work like that. Right now I've got a couple of people looking over them to make sure I didn't make any egregious errors, and once I hear back from both of them I'll put the subtitles all over the internet so all the non-French-speaking fans can share in the love. Flo told me to "spread the word" and I'd obviously do ANYTHING HE ASKED, so there ya go.
(And I totally troll the internet trying to find RPS on these two and such with little result thus far, so I don't expect anything you guys have come up with will make me anything but delighted if and when it comes to my attention.)
She has an excellent ability to find pictures for them. Feel free to check out my icons and hers, I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you stole them as long as you credit. >w< (At this point I'm just using ones I think you'll enjoy. XD Though I enjoy them quite a bit myself~)
Seriously? That's totally exciting. Earlier Far and I were discussing how awesomely adorable it is that Mikele always wanders around in his make-up. I thought it might have just been for specific appearances but that man ALWAYS looks fabulous. It's very exciting. >w<
REALLY? Oh my god, is it possible for me to love you a little bit? I think that might amend the lack of autographs if that works out, because as much as I'm interested in learning French, I am not the best with languages. It'll be wonderful to know what's going on. So far I've basically been figuring everything on the few words I can understand and the gestures on stage. Which, doesn't Mikele have the best flouncing gestures?
(Haha, awesome. I hope that's the case with us. I think we're both only comfortable with how we play them because we know we're both equally CLUELESS. She hasn't seen the full opera yet, but I sent her a copy of my copy.)
I just realized something really funny. The friend who introduced my to MOR is also from NC. (well, i don't think originally, but she lives there now...) What a small world this is!
ok, so my computer will not allow me to get to Mikele in Sims 3. Flo worked no problem, I don't see why Mikele is being so difficult. lol. but anyway I was thinking maybe I'd take a crack at him myself. the only problem is that they don't have a cool enough hair choice on my game, so i was wondering if you could point me to a link of where i can download Mikele's hair? If so I would greatly appreciate it. Hell, I already appreciate the fact that you uploaded it for me. I just think it sucks that you did all that work, and my effing computer is rendering it useless.
Who woulda guessed that the computerized avatar of Mikele would be a diva too? haha
I am terribly annoyed at your computer. How can it deny you Sim!Mikele? Outrageous.
That said... I thought I'd gotten the hair from ModtheSims3.info, but I was checking that site the other day and did not see that particular hair. I know I went through a hysterical Sim-modding phase wherein I found related sites to gank hair from as well, but I remember none of them. :(
Also, I am terribly interested in your NC friend who likes MOR! She didn't happen to be from the Chapel Hill area, did she? Or Greensboro?
Um, I'm not exactly sure where she lives in NC. She is my age, so I'm not sure if you'd know her. Her name is Samantha, but every one just calls her Sam. She used to have dyed red hair, or her natural color is blonde.. that ring any bells? She used to live in PA but moved here to IN then moved back to PA then moved to NC. lol.
Don't worry, I WILL find a way! My computer will not deny me my MikelangeFlo experience! It might think it can, but I assure you, I will beat it into submission, MUWAHAHAHA! lol
Success! I am at my dads, so i didn't have my game registered online yet (didn't have the code with me) so I got my mom to text me the codes. So i was able to finally download Mikele from the exchange. And his little headshot picture shows up in the download area, instead of a pic of a box, so I'm assuming he'll be in the game.
Cute, I love it! Do you plan to go to the stage door again soon? How much longer are you there? Btw if it makes you feel better I only found your LJ when you posted links to your entries on foreign musicals or somewhere like that. The thought that someone would randomly stumble across it amuses me but I think your commentary etc is entertaining, funny and makes good read It sounded like he got a kick from your embarrassment though, nasty thing! ;)
I have to leave December 19th. I am so unhappy about this. Yet also incredibly excited to see green money again. And I plan to stage door ALL THE TIME NOW. If Flo can internet stalk me, I can fan-stalk him. I think it's fair.
