Ton silence est un cri qui fait mal
Dec. 31st, 2010 10:32 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Well, WEEKS have gone by and I have resisted typing up this review. I don't know why. I guess the longer I wait to tell my final MOR stories the longer I'll feel like it isn't all in the past.
The thing is, I don't have much to say about this performance. I took over 200 pictures and a lot of really good videos.
It was the day after Chanson de l'Année, so a few times I saw a piece of confetti drift down onto the stage.
My seat was so close I could see absolutely everything. I got to use Porte A like a real, rich fan!
Things were weird. Mikele's vest was undone during Place je passe and for some reason there was no sheet music for Flo to clutch during Le Bien qui fait mal. I had also never had a seat close enough to realise Flo has two different costumes in this show (you'd think that if I was good at doing one thing during MOR it would be staring at Florent Mothe, but apparently I need glasses more than I realised) so I had the idea that maybe he had accidentally put on an older costume or something? I don't know. But that was my mistake, not his.
The saddest part of the whole day was that Florent Mothe did not see me in the crowd. Not during the curtain call and not even at the stage door! I was right up on the fence, but some lady near me passed out and apparently that was distracting or something. Still, I got to see Flo be all caring and fetch a security guy all "Elle va tomber!"
Maybe that's why I didn't care enough to write this review. I saw the show from an excellent seat, but apparently the toboggan I was wearing made me INVISIBLE to beautiful brown eyes. Sad. I actually spent most of that night and the next day thinking he had ignored me on purpose because he thought I was being too clingy or obsessive or something, but later conversations have informed me that it was the inviso-boggan's fault. Or maybe the fainting lady. But he actually had no idea I was there.
Anyway, now I'm just gonna drop off the best of the pictures and the videos below the cut.
We'll kick things off with... Da Ponte!
And suddenly I understood why the fourth-row seat was worth EVERY CENTIME.
Nuno and Da Ponte! You haven't seen the last of this picture.
lol Mikele's singing face.
I didn't edit this picture at all. It just came out looking this cool.
Can you spot Mikele?
Holy crap that is a close clear and awesome picture.
OH GOD THIS IS AWFUL.
One thing I've never remembered to comment on in my reviews of the show is how much I love women beating Mikele with sticks during Tatoue-moi. And then during the last refrain when they're all rejecting his music, they do different things every time. Sometimes the guys use their umbrellas to fend Mikele off, sometimes they just throw the music back at him, and once--one glorious performance--a guy literally DROP-KICKED the music. I laughed through most of his mother's death after that.
I spy Colloredo!
And so I was commenting on how terrifying this Death guy is and how much better it would be if it was Máté.
AND THEN I SAW THIS.
THE ONLY THING THAT SCARES ME AS MUCH AS THE CLOWN.
AND IT IS ALSO MERWAN.
OF COURSE.
Anyway, since it was what I thought was my last time seeing the show, I decided to get a video of my favourite thing Mikele does in act one. And then I realised Nuno was coming in, so I decided to just go ahead and video the whole scene. I love this scene.
MOR 12/14 La Mascarade
Uhhh... now that I'm in the USA all my dailymotion videos are preceded by a ton of advertising. Has... has it always been this way for you Americans? Sorry...
And then act two. There are about a million more pictures than that on my facebook but they're mostly blurry. I picked the nicest ones to share with you, livejournal.
And if you can find me on facebook, send me a friend request. You can see the others. I figure I've accidentally leaked enough information here that a determined person could hunt me down.
Here's Solal.
Here's the open vest. Maybe he accidentally grabbed Nuno's understudy vest and couldn't get it done up??
Here's Comédie-Tragédie and Place je passe.
MOR 12/14 Comédie tragédie, place je passe
BONE-CHILLING.
I like how my camera keeps wandering off of Mikele during Place je passe. I was trying to figure out why and realised... I'd found Bravo Mozart Guy in the crowd!
And that video cuts off fast because I KNEW WHAT WAS COMIN AT ME.
MOR 12/14 Il a choisi Mozart
Oh Nuno and Yamin. Never stop being awesome.
THAT DUDE'S FACE.
MOR 12/14 Répétitions
All the "Il n'a pas compris." after the "MOZZARELLA" bit. And is it my imagination, or did I hear a disgusted groan from Flo when Constance says "Et bien, vien le prend!" or whatever. Haha, Salieri is OUTRAGED. Also, THE SLOW CLAP. No Evil Chuckle, but there IS a slow clap.
But you see it! No music.
Here's the sexiest song in the show.
And not just this show. Any show. Life.
MOR 12/14 Le Bien qui fait mal
OMG what the video is showing up all warped on my computer. Please tell me if it's that way for you. I'll upload it to youtube if I have to.
If you CAN watch it, my favourite thing is the two-step snap to attention Flo does when Mikele goes, "Eh bien, Maestro?"
So yeah, and there was an understudy on for Cécilia Weber, but she was good and it was fine and I liked it.

I think we all know why the Promesse de Mariage is my favourite prop.

I BET YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS CLOSE TO THE BUTTERFLY DRESS.

This scene is the sweetest. I ship it.

:(

I SEE YOU BRAVO MOZART GUY

AND YOU KNOW WHAT COMES NEXT.
MOR 12/14 Rosenbeeeerg
Nothing particularly memorable, though the RosenbAAAEERRRRRg is pretty amazing. The greatest thing is being able to see Flo's facial expressions. His eyerolls and his taut smile. Awesome.

DA PONTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

DES LIMITES? POOF. J'AI MIEUX.

FLOMG THIS PICTURE IS SO CLEAR. It's like I was actually there. OH WAIT I WAS. Wow.

Hahaha this adlib is amazing.

So this is like the only picture of Flo I took the whole time. I was busy videoing his every move, you understand.
Here are some of those moves which I videoed! They're named L'Assasymphonie and I love them.
MOR 12/14 L'Assasymphonie
And then I realised I'd never actually videoed that Faisons la noce scene, so I did that.
By doing so, by the by, I caught a really EPIC adlib from Yamin.
MOR 12/14 Faisons la noce
Did you hear it? I like how I slowly start laughing and then CAN'T STOP as my American brain slowly comprehends Yamin's French accent.
And I immediately took another video of the next scene because... DA PONTE.
MOR 12/14 Don Juan
I think Mikele is flubbing some lines like a mofo there at the end.

Aaaaand I have a REALLY CLOSE VIDEO of the Prince Incongru Boogie everyone!
MOR 12/14 Victime de ma victoire
Reasons why this is my favourite of all the Victime de ma victoires I've seen.
1. Prince Incongru Boogie!
2. Flo straightening that chick's wig. She looks kinda terrified when he comes at her like that.
3. Yamin and Da Ponte! When Da Ponte says "La Flûte enchantée!" Yamin is like, "Ooh, enchanté, me too! I'm Rosenberg. Introducing myself? No? He's not laughing." Then he goes into his "Will you lift me up? He's a little tall, it's bothering me." But by then Da Ponte had already given up on the scene and was making his exit, so Yamin had to say all his remaining lines SIMULTANEOUSLY so we could all get back to the song.
4. Flo swatting at that girl's hand, then losing his balance.
5. THIS IS MY FAVOURITE FLOTTACK EVER. He is RUNNING SO FAST. It's the funniest and best thing I've ever seen. People didn't run away that fast from the Smoke Monster on Mystery Island!!
6. And then. His microphone starts messing up. The minute he finishes with "l'histoire" he goes "Désolé, c'est mon micro." in his sweet little Flo voice. I found that amazing and giggling awkwardly for a while, which really perplexed the people sitting around me.

Okay, so something weird was happening behind the evil curtain. It was like, they were all giggling and having trouble getting their lines said? My assumption was that Merwan was drunk. I don't know what the deal was.

It looks like Nuno's on a laptop.

Now it looks like Nuno and Mikele are making out!

Unffffffff.

And then there was a huge crowd of four-year-olds (probably older, let's be honest) who were all creeping down the aisle, and I was like BEEYOTCH NO I AM IN THE FOURTH ROW AND I WILL GET A GOOD SPOT IN THE MOSH PIT.
And I was in my usual place, kind of, but... nope, Flo didn't look at me. I was a little heartbroken, not gonna lie. I thought it was my last show, you see.
So here's curtain call.
MOR 12/14 C'est bientôt la fin
Have I ever mentioned that the way Flo hums his part during the first "encore encore encore encore" is my favourite thing ever? Because it is.
Oh geez. I hadn't actually seen this video until just a second ago... This has a very specific focal point, doesn't it? I think it just kind of classifies as a VIDEFLO. Hahahaaaaaaaaa it will never get old.
Ooh, I did make one detour out to see Da Ponte!
And finally...
MOR 12/14 L'Assasymphonie
HOW DID HE NOT SEE ME. SERIOUSLY.
Also, lol Yamin busting up the stifled manlove at the end.
Yeah, so then I went and stood out at the stagedoor, as previously mentioned, it was sad for me. Some lady passed out (not sure if she was freezing to death or overwhelmed by Flo's beauty) and in the ensuing hubbub Flo totally skipped me. Then again, I didn't have anything for him to sign or anything, so I decided to NEVER MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN.
And I didn't!

Date: 2010-12-31 05:10 pm (UTC)Flo and that male dancer got closer than I've EVER SEEN in that video. I think I melted at one point. So good. I swear, I thought they were going to kiss.
BRAVO MOZART GUY! <3 <3 <3
Mikele look so baffled in that picture right before the Rosenberg scene. Everyone else is like ":'D" and he's kind of like "o__o What happened? I was wasted. D:"
I love how in the beginning of Victime de ma victoire he smiles at the girl and she thinks he's interested and he's like, "Alcohol. =w= *Takes glass*" And how he seemed to offend that one woman behind the doors and she tries to hit him with his dress and he's like "D: *Sidesteps*" AND LOL, YES, THE WIG. SO GOOD. Especially how he does it without even, like, looking at her. XD HE LOOKS SO AFRAID WHEN HE RUNS OFF THE STAGE, looking over his shoulder like that. "DON'T LET THEM GET ME. D:"
After that picture of Mikele/Nuno, I'd like to point out that Flo's head looks like it's just FLOATING THERE because of his costume. Thank goodness for that bit of white that he wears.

Also- Poor Loony, getting Floglected.

That is pretty epic. First we've got Lady Gaga, now Amy Winehouse. Yamin is a regular scholar of pop culture! lol
