Let's see.

1. The Merlin finale was perhaps the most perfect and beautiful finale ever and I've been listening to "You're the Voice" on repeat for about fifteen minutes at full volume.

2. The LM movie obviously wasn't a carbon copy of the musical or of the Book but for gods SAKE people it was one of the most accurate movie renditions ever and IT WAS ALSO THE MUSICAL *AND* THE GENERAL PUBLIC LIKES IT so anyone who wants to complain about it needs to expect me to roll my eyes HARD at your sorry ass.

3. The Hobbit was really good and I want to go back and see it in 3D because I missed PJ's cameo. So glad everyone else in the world loves Aidan Turner now. I read the book when I was a small child and don't remember a lot of specifics but if that dwarf dies I will be so so sad. As if losing Mitchell wasn't bad enough. NOBODY SPOIL ME.

YOU'RE THE VOICE TRY AND UNDERSTAND IT
MAKE A NOISE AND MAKE IT CLEAR
WHOA-OHHH-WHOA-OHHH-WHOA-OHHHHH-OHHHHH

4. oh yeah doctor who is still a show that's being made, almost forgot. I liked the Christmas special even though it didn't make much sense. Wish Clara wasn't flirting with the Doctor. We need more Donnas. But overall she was pretty great. Too much ableism from the Doctor directed at Strax, which made me uncomfortable, but the Vastra-Jenny-Strax team is great. Memory worm was unnecessarily gross. Why not just retcon people, Doc?
• Post ten of any pictures currently on your hard drive that you think are self-expressive.
• NO CAPTIONS!!! It must be like we're speaking with images and we have to interpret your visual language just like we have to interpret your words.
• They must ALREADY be on your hard drive - no googling or flickr! They have to have been saved to your folders sometime in the past. They must be something you've saved there because it resonated with you for some reason.
• You do NOT have to answer any questions about any of your pictures if you don't want to. You can make them as mysterious as you like. Or you can explain them away as much as you like.

I think these ten basically sum it up. )

And I will def explain any of them that you don't understand... because that's how I roll.

Dreams!

Dec. 29th, 2008 12:49 pm
Okay, so my sleeping schedule has been weird lately.  I only got about four hours of sleep the night before Christmas, the night of Christmas, and then the night after that.  So Saturday I went to bed at 2am (early for me, as my hallmates can attest) and got up at 11:30am.  Then, after work, I fell asleep again around 7pm and woke up at midnight.  I wander around the house for a while, read a particular book to which I don't wish to admit reading quite yet, and went back to sleep at 6am.   Woke up at noon.  Am still tired.

BUT, due to the weird schedule, I had some interesting dreams about David Tennant and (*eyeroll*) that book.  The first one was sort of Christmas Invasion-y.  I saw two of those evil Santas in a car and grabbed them and took them someplace and tied them down so they wouldn't hurt me.  But then they turned out to be old ladies?  Or maybe old men.  It went back and forth.  And the one that was tied to a table wanted his shoes to be painted white.  And I tried to do that for him, cos he was dying of old age, but they kept turning clear and that made him sad.  And then he was getting younger or something, which confused me, but it turned out the old stuff was makeup and it was actually David Tennant playing a role.  And I kissed him, which is something I wouldn't mind dreaming about more often, and then I let him up and we went to this house in the woods.  Or maybe it was a bar.  There were a ton of junked cars parked out front.  And when I got there my friend Stacyfacy was being held prisoner by her own family and wasn't even allowed to use this nice headboard I'd bought her, which had clouds on it.  So David Tennant, who had become a vampire at some point, but a nice vampire (*sigh*) and I decided to rescue her.  And then her family left, like in Matilda, and left her behind, so vampire!Tennant and I decided she was part of our family.  Then we drove one of the many used cars from the front lot through the woods to my parents' house, but the car got stuck in a creek, so we went back and rode an elephant instead.  Because apparently Arthur (the Bradley James version) was at my parents' house, playing in a sandbox, and we wanted him to join us too.  Except my dad wouldn't let him, which made us sad.  I think that's the whole thing in a nutshell...
Okay, that's a lie, but seriously.  Watch the icon.  I made it really quickly to commemorate seeing (part of) my favourite SNL skit rerunning today on E.  I made it really fast.  But it's the longest icon in the worrrrrrld.

Anyway.

The plan was to pick me up at 1pm.  But this morning my lovely friends woke me up and said, "You know you have to be out of the dorm by 10, right?"  I looked at the clock.  It was 9:53.  I deemed this NOT GOOD.  So I called my dad who agreed to leave right away (college is only a half-hour from home) and I immediately started running around throwing things into suitcases.  I didn't even get dressed.  When I realised I needed shoes on but had already packed the ones I wanted, I tugged on rainboots.  That's right.  I moved out of my dorm this morning in a long shirt, scrubs, and rain boots.  Hawt.

But it all worked out and I got home and had some Quizno's and went back to sleep.  And then work.  And then I watched the series finale of Merlin.

Merlinnnnnn.  I seriously did not see that ending coming.  I was so pleased.  I'm going to miss that show.  Thank goodness they've signed on for series two!

Also, Amy Poehler will be missed on SNL.  *sigh*

AND THE I.T. CROWD ACTUALLY MENTIONED RICHMOND AVENAL THIS WEEK!  I freaked out and had to pause it and squeal for a few minutes.  Then I was so distracted I had to start the whole thing over again.  "Where IS Richmond?"  "...he got SCURVY."  Oh my gosh, that show amazes me every week.
lesmisloony: (The Moon D:)
I'm sick.

Right after Heroes last night I started feeling AWFUL.  It was probably all that icky het.  Thank God for Sylar being Sylar again.  But Mohinder's FACE!  WHY???  Gah, I used to be proud to be a Heroes fan, but now I'd rather admit to adoring Merlin than Heroes.

Speaking of which.  MERLIN.  I.T. CROWD.  WHY WERE THEY BOTH SO AMAZING THIS WEEK?  And even more amazing?  Those video diaries from the Merlin DVD!  It was the most amazing thing EVER.  AMAZING I SAY.  Bradley James and Colin Morgan are SO. HILARIOUS.

And the I.T. Crowd is proving that it doesn't even NEED the magic of Richmond Avenal to be awesome. Unexpected!Hitler last week, and the amazing technique to distract the cops this week?  I LOVVVVE THAT SHOW.  Srsly guys, Ayoade for Eleven and Colin Morgan for companion.

"Je m'appelle Angel.  Je suis LOSER."
"Oh, je ne clean pas le room pour no loser!"
"And once again the balance is restored to nature."
"It was just complete euphoria from start to finish.  It was like the greatest moment of my life.  All rolled into one day."
"If our names were actually representation...al... of who we are, I'D be called Angel.  She'd be called ... ... ... HUSSY."
"We don't really understand the French but what he think [the radio] is singing is... 'We're all going to die.'  We're GOINNNG to that great big rollercoaster in the skyyyyy!  To join themmm!  ...in a MINute."
"Bloody he-- I mean, holy-- I mean... whatever.  OH MY GOD.  YEAHHHHHHHH.  AOOGA.  AOOGA."
"I think we keep getting warnings in French for me to turn off my camera.  But don't worry, Merlin fans, it's not gonna happen.  Cos I have the magic phrase.  (singing) Je ne comprends pas!  Je suis anglais, heh-hey!"

I had no idea Anthony Head was so awesome.

Basically, [livejournal.com profile] suchcuriousity and I are going to Parc Asterix.  As soon as I'm well enough to stand up.  We're going to hijack a bus and go.

I randomly wrote something that might be considered fanfiction for my own NaNo last night.  I may or may not let anyone see it.
I only got about two hundred done Friday, so I'm slipping a little.

Wonder if there's any chance I'll be able to break 40.000 by the end of Sunday (today/tomorrow, depending on how you look at time).

Probably not.  But I'm going to try.  I'm grounding myself off AIM until I hit 40k.  Which might be stupid, as chatting with [livejournal.com profile] suchcuriousity is the way I get through most of my big brainfarts.

36282 / 50000 words. 73% done!
Today's word count is TARDIS blue because it's TARDIS Day!  Yayyy.

Oh.  And Merlin tonight was one big present to the slashy shippers.

And I went looking for an ABBA or Amadeus moodtheme, but neither seem to exist.  Big fail, internet.  BIIIG fail.

Grr.

I still have a thousand more words to do tonight but I DON'T WANT TO.

I saw Madagascar 2 today.  It was adorable.  Almost as wonderful as the first one.

The Merlin CIN thing was REALLY AMAZING.  The dl description was "Camelot is attacked by a one-eyed bear; Merlin gets pelted by vegetables and felt up by Arthur... again."  Hilarious.  I think I'm going to need a Merlin tag before too long.

(No progress bar because I'll presumably type another 1000 words before I go to sleep.  I've done nearly eight hundred thus far.  Yeesh.)

ETA: Screw it.  I still need about eight hundred more, but I'm just burnt out.  I have work tomorrow.  As long as there's not a massive matinee crowd for James Bond I should be able to get plenty done.  And anyway, I want to watch Firefly.  Because the characters are all cliche thus I'm only really interested in the shepherd, but somehow I can't stop watching.  Is it brilliant or is it terrible?  I just don't know.  And anyway, if I thought "I think you may have a problem with your brain being missing" was funny, that was before I saw "Dear Diary... today I was pompous and my sister was crazy.  Today, we were kidnapped by hill folk never to be seen again. It was the best day ever."  Also, unexpected!Zac Efron for the WTF!

ETA again: Jaynestown!  Shepherd!  Hair!  Kaylee!  Simon!  Yay.

Okay, so.

Well, I'm watching Peep Show, because I can now. It's lovely.

Catherine saw Les Mis today. I'm super jealous.

[livejournal.com profile] suchcuriousity and I had an amazing adventure that involved Target, giant salads, and a store that's actually called hhgregg's, as in Old Gregg, and had four giant spotlights wiggling about in the night sky above it. We were already extremely giddy over the concept of a TARDIS suit (for all you know Ten might be HUUUUGE!) and then the idea of four Old Greggs flashing their manginas to advertise a store with their name made us total giggling idiots.

I'm worried that I'll run out of plot in a bit. Never written a murder mystery before, though heaven knows I read enough Cat Who... books in middle school.

13068 / 50000 words. 26% done!

Oh!  Carolyn!  Earlier we were discussing nicknames and how Richmond DOES NOT APPROVE, and you had a specific question.  I was brushing my teeth and it crossed my mind that he wouldn't mind hearing "Rich... Rich... Rich..." if he knew the "...mond" was forthcoming.  (lol word choice.)

Also, we watched Merlin and then rewatched Midnight.  Oh, Merlin.  Such a silly show, and yet through the badness I can't help being addicted.  I wasn't sure why, but tonight it definitely became all about Merlin Jethro from Midnight Colin Morgan.  The last episode was completely stolen by the moment where Uther asked if he had some mental affliction and he responded "Probably," but today's became completely awesome through one line.  "I was doing some reading."  There's no way the awesomeness of the context and delivery could possibly be conveyed through text, so you'll just have to trust me.
